Ketamine is a psychedelic medication that has been used for over 50 years, and is a cutting-edge treatment for medication-resistant depression, PTSD, chronic pain and anxiety. Dr. Coleman has treated hundreds of patients with ketamine over the course of the last decade, and has found the medication both safe and effective.
Ketamine is given in two intramuscular injections separated by 10 minutes, in an office setting. Therapy and recovery last approximately 1.5 hours. Often times, a ketamine “induction” is recommended, in which patients get 5-6 treatments in the first two weeks, and often times experience resolution or significant improvement in their symptoms for several months until ketamine is needed again.
