Understanding how microneedling can boost skin beauty and health
The qualified team at Biomend Aesthetics and Wellness in Littleton, Colorado, consisting of PA’s, RN’s, and Licensed Estheticians, treat patients every day who are seeking to enhance the health and appearance of their skin. With a wide range of aesthetic treatments, we can help! One popular treatment used to improve overall skin texture and tone and address a range of issues such as acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, signs of aging, pore size, and dullness, is microneedling.
What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that utilizes a device equipped with tiny, surgical grade needles to create small micro-injuries on the skin’s surface, stimulating the body’s innate healing mechanisms, leading to an increase in the production of collagen and repairing elastin. This process results in smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin, even after just a single treatment session.
What is microneedling used for?
Microneedling has many benefits and can be used to address a myriad of common skin concerns, such as:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Scarring, including acne scars
- Uneven skin texture and tone
- Enlarged pores
- Dullness
- Stretch marks
What do I need to do for aftercare following my microneedling treatment?
Depending on the treatment type, you will receive high end, medical grade products to use in the days following your microneedling treatment. If recommended by your Biomend provider, you will be treated and sent home with stem cell therapy and stem cell topicals to promote healing and optimize your results. You will also be provided detailed instructions on how to care for your skin post-treatment. This may include:
- Using stem cell and/or hayluronic aftercare products as directed
- Avoiding direct sun exposure
- Avoiding agressive skincare products for a few days
- Avoiding certain activities, including swimming or excessive sweating for a couple of days
